And The Winner Was … The Dorchester Collection!
The 2015 Oscars may have been the event of this past weekend, but at DAM we thought the recent Employee Engagement Awards were even more exciting, not least because one of our clients, The Dorchester Collection, picked up one of the top prizes.
For their commitment to employee engagement, The Dorchester Collection picked up the ‘Investors In People Company Of The Year Award’ at the inaugural Employee Engagement Awards ceremony held at the end of January at The Brewery in London.
The world-class hotel chain was voted the winner of that particular category by an expert judging panel made up of both current and former CEOs and HR Directors.
Here at DAM it was no surprise to learn of The Dorchester Collection’s success, having worked with their HR team for the past decade to help them deliver their employee benefits. We know just how important employee engagement is for not only retaining staff, but also for attracting the best talent and we have certainly seen The Dorchester Collection excel at doing exactly that for many years.
Obviously great and innovative employee benefits are an important part of employee engagement, which is why we’re extremely proud to have helped The Dorchester Collection to implement a package containing both traditional employee benefits as well as some more unique offerings, from mortgage advice to face-to-face financial advice.
It is great to see such a dedication to engaging with staff rewarded and members of The Dorchester Collection’s HR team were obviously pleased as well. Eugenio Pirri, the Vice President for People & Organisational Development, commented: “We are delighted to receive this award in recognition for our continued commitment to employee engagement.”
Pirri added: “We strive to ensure the highest levels of standards are delivered across all areas of the business and our team is integral to achieving this.”
The man behind the awards, founder Matt Manners, also heaped praise on The Dorchester Collection, calling them, “the clear winner this year.” He also praised the fact that the HR team had co-created an engagement metric with Cornell University as well pointing out that The Dorchester Collection, “live and breathe engagement and ensure it runs throughout the business.”
It will be a tough act to follow when the second edition of the awards rolls around next year. Aspiring HR teams can apply from June onwards and The Employee Engagement Awards website is the best place to keep up-to-date with the relevant dates.
