The Sweet Taste Of Giving Back To Hospitality – It HITs The Spot!

With so many of DAM’s clients coming from the hospitality industry, it’s always a privilege to be able to give something back to hospitality and DAM’s sponsorship of the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland is one way we do exactly that.

 

HIT Scotland has been going strong since 1994 and has been an ambassador for emerging talent in Scotland’s hospitality industry during that time. HIT’s mission is to help people achieve their full potential in hospitality and it’s a mission they succeed at time and time again.

With over 1,200 scholarships and 10,200 bursaries supplied to date to emerging talent, HIT Scotland has achieved something to be proud of.

As a charity, the work that HIT does to provide hospitality scholarships and bursaries simply couldn’t be achieved without a helping hand and their corporate sponsors and fundraising events manage to raise the necessary funds. DAM is proud, therefore, to play its part in helping HIT Scotland achieve its mission and we have a brand new corporate sponsorship of HIT in place, of which I’m very proud.

Given that DAM is a specialist in providing employee benefits for the hospitality industry and that most of our clients therefore come from within hospitality, I see time and again the amazing hospitality talent that the country has when meeting our clients. That’s why I think the work HIT does is so important as the future of one of the country’s most important industries is boosted by the opportunities HIT can provide for young people looking for their chance.

I have been involved with the charity’s POETS committee for the past 12 years and, therefore, helped put on some fantastic and successful POETS events. The most recent was earlier this very month and raised more than £50,000 on the night – a truly massive amount and a huge boost for Scottish hospitality’s up-and-coming stars.

It’s been fantastic to be involved with HIT for so many successful years now and I hope that our new sponsorship of the charity will lead to plenty more success in the near future.
