Social Bite CEO Sleepout raises £564,545.64 to build village for homeless
We've just heard the news that the Social Bite CEO Sleepout in December raised an amazing total of £564,545.64.
Social Bite, the social enterprise which organised the CEO Sleepout, runs a chain of sandwich shops across Scotland that train and employ homeless staff and with the money raised from the event, will now be able to construct 10 purpose-built houses in Granton, in the north of Edinburgh, in partnership with the council.
About 20 residents will stay in the supervised “village” environment – with access to counselling, addiction therapy and budgeting advice – for up to a year before moving on to more permanent accommodation.
300 CEOs took part in the event and our Managing Director, Russell Davidson raised an amazing total of £3,432.
Thank you to all of our clients and friends of DAM who were part of this - you have made a huge difference with your donations!
You will have given a homeless person renewed hope, opportunities they didn't think would be possible and a picture of a better life ahead.
