Why We Get The Caterer
Given that we are experts in hospitality, it makes perfect sense to keep up-to-date on the latest news in the sector. For that reason, and a few others, we subscribe to The Caterer magazine.
Here at Davidson Asset Management (or DAM as we are most often called), we are an employee benefits advisor with a difference – we specialise in employee benefits advice for the hospitality industry.
A quick look at our clients page shows just how many of hospitality’s big names have hopped on the DAM bandwagon in recent years, giving us a vote of approval and seeking our hospitality-specific employee benefit advice.
But how do we attract so many hospitality chains and how have we cemented our place as a hospitality expert? Well, a large part of that comes down to the fact that we read and work with The Caterer magazine, the leading source of information on the UK hospitality industry.
The Caterer has been going strong for 136 years and has been the source of hospitality news for businesses across the UK for that time. It still prints a magazine, but has also stepped into the digital age and rebranded slightly from The Caterer And Hotelkeeper, helping it keep its place as the go-to publication for hospitality news in the digital age. And it is certainly still where we go for such news here at DAM.
When the magazine comes into the office each week, a quick flick through keeps us up-to-date on the latest industry trends and news so that we can keep fully informed about the industry in which a large majority of our clients work. After a quick flick through, we often go back to take a more in-depth read of some of the more insightful pieces and after these have been passed around the office for all of us to get our hospitality update, it’s time for the next week’s edition!
While we love the magazine and the insights it gives us, we’ve also had the pleasure over the years of hosting events with The Caterer, most recently at a couple of Auto Enrolment advice breakfasts in The Dorchester Hotel in London. I myself spoke at these mornings along with a panel of other auto enrolment experts and the attendees all enjoyed a very insightful morning.
It is this kind of proactive approach to the issues of the hospitality industry that makes The Caterer a big part of the way we work at DAM and that’s why we’re proud to be a subscriber and occasional partner.
So thanks to the guys over there and here’s to the next 136 years!
